The Mel Jr. and Marty Zajac Foundation and Ranch

The Vancouver-based president of Arctic Enterprises, Don Rutledge donates to various philanthropic groups and charities in his community. Don Rutledge is a proud supporter of the Mel Jr. & Marty Zajac Foundation and Ranch, which were created to help Vancouver children suffering from chronic and life-limiting conditions.

Founded by the parents of two sons who lost their lives in sporting accidents, the Mel Jr. & Marty Zajac Foundation has the simple goal of improving the quality of life of children with illnesses and disabilities. The Foundation also donates some of its donations to neighboring programs, including United Way and the BC Children's Hospital.

In 2004, the Foundation created the Zajac Ranch for Children, which offers kids the chance to enjoy summer camp and the camp activities that many take for granted, such as swimming, kayaking, and horseback riding. On 44 acres surrounded by mountains and dense forest, the ranch provides fun and relaxation to 120 children each summer.
