The Nature Trust of British Columbia is the province's leading land conservation organization. Since 1971, it has strived to protect Canada's natural resources by acquiring ecologically significant lands and protecting them through environmental stewardship. Over the last 45 years, the Nature Trust has invested approximately $80 million in more than 70,000 hectares of land.

The Nature Trust is currently working to expand its protected areas by acquiring just over 35 hectares on the east side of Skaha Lake. This region is home to bighorn sheep populations as well as the white-throated swift, the Western rattlesnake, and other species of concern to conservationists.

The Skaha Lake Eastside project will cost an estimated $1.3 million, of which the Nature Trust still requires $175,000. To learn more about this ongoing project or to lend support, visit www.naturetrust.bc.ca.
